There is a part of me that never wants to grow old...
always wants to be young and
full of energy,
full of life,
full of excitement,
full of learning,
giving, receiving, and keeping busy
JUST BEING.
And then there's a part of me that does want to grow old, but with the man of my life, my husband, my love.
I look at cute old couples and I think, "Wow, I'd like to be like that someday."
And then I realized that what these older couples have in them is youth. They have charm, a vivacity for living. Time has made their body parts sag and wrinkle, but their hearts haven't aged a bit. Humor abounds. Love rules their world.
And I am then not afraid to grow old-- it's just a fact of life, the way things are.
I think the greatest fear most of us have with growing old is growing old ALONE.
I must admit that prospect scares me-- but it's not something I have to consider for another, oh-- 50 years or so.... so I think I'll just let it lie for now...
Come, grow old with me. Be young with me. Savor your love because it's what gets you through the day. It's what gets you through life. It's what gets you through time, and it's what makes time stand still...
Love makes life worth living.
Love makes youth the theme for every day's rhythmic vibes.
Love is the answer...
it really does make the world go 'round.
If only everyone knew that-- and then, the world would be kinder, gentler, more understanding. Then, the big picture would be more beautiful.
People would smile more,
be nicer to each other.
For now, it's up to the little love angels interspersed
between the crowds of rushing faces to give small allowances...
to give hope to the masses,
to hold out a hand to those in need...
Are you in need? When's the last time you admitted to anyone that you were in need? When's the last time you asked for help?
When's the last time you told someone you loved them? Don't wait. Tell them now.
We are more fragile than we realize. More delicate than we appear.
Stronger than we have to be... we can bear the weight of others' woes along with our own, and we don't even realize it...
Spread your wings-- try them out. Fly. Know that those on the ground who watch and cheer will be waiting for you when you fall. They'll catch you, if you let them.
If you acknowledge your need.
If you are brave enough,
strong enough,
to ask for help.
If you believe in love, then you will never truly be alone, because you will always have more inside of you to give-- you will always have more to offer... you will always have the strength to rise out of bed in the morning...
Close your eyes, my friend,
and believe...
