This is where friends and family of Greg can share memories of him. Share funny stories, ways that he touched your life-- anything you can think of. When you'd like to submit a memory, please email me and I will be more than happy to post it here. I'd really love for this page to become huge! Thank you.
"I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done."
(poem printed in funeral service bulletin)

Greg always loved talking about shaving, shaving cream, using a razor, brushing his teeth with toothpaste, combing his hair, getting a haircut-- yet he hated any of these things actually happening to him!
Greg loved hot dogs!
Always an affectionate kid, he'd seem to sense when I was having a bad day and he'd know exactly what to do to cheer me up.
Lorrie and I live on the same street in Goffstown that the McKinnons lived on while they were in New Hampshire. We're fortunate in that we can visit Greg often. We do our best, along with other friends, to make sure that Greg's grave is well cared for, and decorated with flowers. (Paul and Lorrie Bissonnette, family friends of the McKinnons)
Greg loved talking about falling down the stairs and breaking his leg, slipping in the rain and breaking all his bones, and basically anything silly and outrageous that involved falling down, squishing his fingers in closed doors, or other bodily harm.
Linda and I were fortunate enough to spend a week at Disney World with the McKinnons in 1987 (or there about). During our visit the kids wanted to meet Mickey Mouse (so did I) and Tim tried to get Adam and Chris to get into line to meet him. They didn't want to go without Greg (who was in a wheelchair so he wouldn't have to walk all through the park). They tried to get Greg closer but they couldn't get through the crowd of kids with his wheelchair. So there we all waited on the outskirts of the "viewing area" trying to catch a glimpse of the great Mickey Mouse. After a short while, Mickey Mouse saw Greg, Adam, and Chris. He worked his way through the crowd of kids and went up to Greg to say hello. I must say that was the loudest scream of joy I have ever heard from Greg and the best smiles from the entire family. Greg was somewhat of a hero to his brothers that day because he got them to the front of all the lines and a special hello for the big mouse himself! That was one of my best vacations and I still get goosebumps when I think about that day. (Denise Bedard and Linda Carr - Friends from NH.)
He thought it was the funniest thing in the world when he spilled whatever he was drinking (until he had to clean it up!).
Greg always loved looking through his picture albums during the evenings. His teachers would often sit with him and go through the pictures page by page and talk about each one.
Greg knew me so well. One time at the residence when I was working, I picked up two Hostess Swiss Rolls (they're the chocolate cake-like things with creme filling rolled up and on the outside is a yummy chocolate shell). One roll was for me, the other for Greg (I love chocolate as much as or more than Greg!). I put the two rolls in the inside pocket of my jacket, before Greg even had a chance to see me (I was downstairs, he was upstairs). When I went upstairs, I pulled one of the Swiss rolls out of my pocket and opened it up. Greg of course got very excited when he saw what it was. We shared that roll. After a few minutes, I got up out of my seat to do something, and Greg followed me, walked over to me, and opened up my jacket, pointing to the inside. I said, "What? You think I have another one in there?" And he motioned "yes" and started laughing hysterically. That kid knew me so well... he knew that I wouldn't have just one Swiss Roll! That is definitely one of my fondest memories of Greg. (Linda Lee Tritton, former teacher/case manager at NECC)
